Bill Gates just held an on TV speech on MSNBC about the court ruling.
He basically said that all and everything goes now and that Microsoft is full steam ahead.

yea, he did mention the WXP and officeXP products but nothing on the smart tags.
He talked like this ruling will virtually thwart attempts to stop them now from implementing the smart tags.

That may have been the last chance to stop M$ from assimilating the internet world as we know it. I was afraid the positive ruling might give M$ extra incentive to push the smart tags through....hell why not add smart content too, I'm sure there's plenty of sites which need this?
I'm not sure why M$ just didn't implement this feature into the O/S...why only provide extra unwanted advertisements thrown in the face from the browser? Hell, make all aspects of M$ windows reflect advertising...from boot up to shut down!~ If your disk drive starts to fill up, an alert will pop up stating you are using more than 90%, and provide an advertisement to purchase a new one. If you get a system error, another pop up will alert you, and provide an ad for a MSCE who can fix your machine.
I believe the .NET is actually short for Nettle (http://www.dictionary.com/cgi-bin/dict.pl?term=nettle)!~ ;)

You are giving them ideas.... :D
Well, the courts might seek another remedy as the basis for the lawsuit was upheld.
The remedy is what is in question.
I think that both sides will just settle it in some way.
