Shouldnt the dance occur sometime soon? The last dance was on the 15th of June which is over a month and a week ago.

Some are suggesting there won't be a dance anymore -- that the updates will just roll on all the time. Even if not, or if that doesn't kick in right away, the timing of the dance has been growing more irregular. I believe that's why people started giving it a name, the way they do with major storms, instead of just identifying it with a month.

So in answer to your question, I don't know.

Come on, are you seriously still waiting for the dance?

This would be a question I would expect from somebody new. Dance just happens, or maybe not now, but either way if you just do your job does it really matter when?

If it happens, the forums will light up like a christmas tree.

Seems to me that there was what could pass for an update a week or so ago, with lots of sites seeing their rankings change dramatically.

Yeah, the positions are changing regularly, but Google will still have to update their backward links and Pagerank some time.

I think qwerty may be bang on with the idea there will be continuous updates.
I've got a brand new site for a client that has only been live for just under three weeks. Google first visited on the 20th july and the site is at 16 in the serps on www, www2, www3 and in 6 of the datacentres. I have been doing a search twice a day since the visit and the first results were at about 8 AM (GMT) Today 24th

I don't normally pay any attention to the 'dance' but as this is the first new site after the major changes I decided it may be a useful exercise (maybe in futility) to watch what happens. We'll see how it performs over the next few weeks now, Then I can go back to being dis-interested.

So the only point of the dance/update now is to reconfigure Pagerank and backward links. I guess Pagerank isnt really even that important any more, as it is hardly accurate, because its not up to date.

I don't think they can recalculate PageRank continuously just yet. That algorithm requires a lot of computing power.

In the past you knew when that was going on because your site would see more indexers. The only difference is someone wrote a tool which has an eye to the index and since PR can be calculated by the total links it was easy to spot when G is refreshing it's link analysis. Big wup, never been to the "dance hall" because I seldom see a change in placement. No need is all.

Hi, everyone!

As I know (from the info on http://googledance.seochat.com/ and by my own observations) Google Dance began 9:45 AM (EST) on August 11 2003. But when it will finish?
As I can remember, I may be about 3 days long. Any ideas? (Really, I just starwing for waiting for it. :)

Some PRs of root pages of my sites already updated (bit grows) - is this final its PRs or they can change? (I mean Googlebar's values).

Thank you. Eugene.

Once there was an event used to happen at google which is called google-dance.. lalalalalaaaa

One SEO tells his junior as below,

"Previously google used to make complete updation only one time for 1 or 2 months".
