Hi all,

I read a bunch of stuff each and every day -some of it sticks and some of it doesn't. I ran across this article during a surf frenzy and it stuck:

http://www.marketleap.com/report/ml_report_38.htm

I went back and revisited it and thought, you know it fits my budget ("budget" content="cheap"). I was starting a new website to market an e-book and I thought it would be a good opportunity to build it from the ground up. I have a blog going that shows the day by day PFI results and it has proved to be interesting. It is written with the average user in mind and I thought it might be helpful for those looking to market and improve their web sites. It does make for some interesting reading. I am hanging my SERP's and rankings out in the wind for everyone to see. It is good fun!
Here is the link:

Thanks!

Yes, good articles for what they are talking about.

Each type of site should decide whether to spend the bucks or not for PFI.

imo, unless a site changes content all the time, like blogs, etc, I see zero need to pay per page. Inktomi is very good at finding your site via other links, and then spidering your site to the fullest. The last few months especially.

So while that article is very correct, it fails to address sites that have zero need for PFI. As it 'did' say, PFI has nothing to do with "position".

Also, no one knows what is going on with yahoo and Ink. Only speculation. Right now, the only engine with Inktomi that means anything is MSN, and that is for secondary results.

Of course, if your targeted phrases don't have any Looksmart paid sites that come up on MSN, then Inktomi results come up first.

As I said, PFI is all and good. But it is not for everyone right now. It "may" be in the future.

Note the author of the first article is Marketleap who are I believe "providers" for the Inclusion programs. Keep that in mind it is often a good idea to look for bias in any article. Goes to motivation and context in which it was written!

Webmaster T,

Are you asserting I am associated with Inktomi or PFI? No disrespect intended.

Thanks,

I think he was referring to the 'other' article. :)

Thanks Doug,

Just wanted to make sure. Whether or not the other author is associated with PFI, his advice was valid and it is working for me. As you pointed out, PFI is not for everyone. I have found it especially helpful for tweaking my new site -- prior to Google 'discovering' it. It has served well as a 'dress rehearsal'.

Thanks!
