I have noticed that my site which has been in the top 20 for my main keyword for a long time has suddenly disappeared. I can't find it in the first 30 pages of results. The only thing I have changed is that I have included the Google Adsense Java Scripts in my pages about 3-4 weeks ago. I hear that googlebot and others can't read JS and that the only effect of having Java scripts on a site is that it pushes text downwards.
Can anybody think of a reason that may make Adsense undesirable for search engine optimization ?

lauramacky,

Adsense DOES NOT AFFECT your normal rankings in Google. Your page may have gone down the results due to the normal index update.

Hope this helps :)

Hi Laura

It could be coincidence, or it could be that you "broke something" when you added the Adsense code.

Is your page still indexed and just ranking poorly, or is it not even indexed? Can anybody think of a reason that may make Adsense undesirable for search engine optimization I can think of some nasty reasons why the opposite would be the case, which is why Google keeps its revenue-earning division separate from its free search engine division.
