Waaay, at last the PR4 shows up. No change in SERPs so Google always knew it was PR4, just wasn't telling.

My own site went from 0 to 4 today (3 on the interior pages). At last, at last... I've got something

I've notice the rather large jumps in TBPR as well, but was uncertain if it was [another] TB malfunction...do those backlinks now show?

Yes, it looks like backlinks have finally been updated. When I first created my site, I went to a site for which I serve as webmaster, and added a link to me in the footer, which shows up in every page. After about a day, I realized that was complete overkill, so I took it out of the footer and just stuck it at the bottom of the home page.

Until today, G was still listing all those other pages as backlinks to me -- probably 4 months after I removed the links.

OK, not to rain on anyone's parade, but has anyone seen their rankings increase as a result of this? I ask because the question is how does this new Google tango work, i.e. when backlinks filter through, does that affeect rankings, or is it just that the backlinks become visible but the data has been present for days?

Realistically, all of these factors (backlinks and PageRank), are only relevant if they improve rankings when / as they change.

It really is interesting times. It is like trying to figure out Google all over again!!!

Yes, I've seen a tiny, albeit unstable increase in some rankings. A page that had been around #8 for a very broad keyphrase has been hovering between 2 and 6 for the last couple of days. I just checked and we're at #3 right now.

And my own site is finally starting to rank fairly well. For my company name I'm numbers 1 and 2 (I had been down around 12).

Rankings seem to have fluctuated slightly on the SERPs that I monitor. Nothing dramatic.

Gained a whole load of internal links, and two external links, but LOST ALL of the previously listed external links.

No change in rank, still #1, but now showing PR4 (has been PR0 for last 3 months).

Site went online in May.
