Wow WebSavvy has its own forum!!!
I thought I would join and introduce myself.

I became an editor at WebSavvy a few days ago and I am the editor of the Lifestyles category. Looking forward to getting to work. :D

Hi Jan,

There are some sites that do come up under the search right now because I have already added them into the search DB.

The category DB is where Editors will be adding sites. We just now have enough Editors to get started. Some categories have had WAY more submissions than others.

The editor system is not yet done Doug. I said I'd try to have it completed by late tonight. Considering we currently have 2200 categories, and an edit folder for each one. There are 3 forms in each edit folder that connect to the DB for that particular category table. These must all match. Then .htaccess has to be set for each one that there's an active Editor in. Some editors have 2 categories that have as many as 30-40 subcategories.

Right now I am more than half way through it. I still have about 300 categories to finish the edit folders for. It's about another 18 hrs. work.

I've been working on this basically nonstop for nearly a week now.

Things will improve once we get everything into place. I don't think any of us were expecting the tidal wave of submissions we received. I'm just glad the response has all been very positive. :)

We've had some promotions taking place too. Blue has moved up from Sr. Editor to Administrator, where he joins Manisha, Farhan, and myself.

Both Sharr and Liloth were moved up to Sr. Editors today, of their categories, respectively.

This will help out quite a bit. The edit system is nearly finished. We lost some time today due to server issues as we were hit by a worm that basically thrashed MySQL on the server. Everything is completely fine now though.

I won't be answering anymore PMs from anyone about when their site will be listed. Your sites will be listed in the order they were submitted. Some categories do not have editors yet, and some of my other editors have offered to help me with the backlog of submissions to those categories.

I've just recovered late yesterday from a 4 day bout with the flu. I finished the editor panels last week, but have been making minor changes based on feedback from the other Admin's.

They (the Admin's) will be testing out the final panels today while the editors weed through the pile of submissions (standing now at over 7000) and then we will begin adding them tomorrow. I've already wiped the database clean so everything will be added fresh and in the new format.
