I'm currently working on a site that has a news page which always has the latest news story posted.

http://www.webadvantage.net/tip.cfm

Then there is a directory of news stories on the same site.

When I submit a new article, AdSense ads are always placed in the story.

With the directory story pages, the AdSense ads are always completely relevant to the content.

http://www.webadvantage.net/tip_archive.cfm?tip_id=281&&a=1

However, the main page with the latest story always shows the same AdSense ad (link above). Perhaps because the title tag is static and has "Internet Marketing Email Tip" in it, which has some very nice AdSense AdWords to fit it.

However, we would want this to change with the content.

Any suggestions? Would changing the page's Meta tags have any effect on this?

Thank you,
Loren

You'd want to change the <TITLE> to fit the content, if you want the ads to change.

The title is fixed and possibly cannot be changed (different story).

The interesting thing is, if you look at the sites, they all have the same title tag.

Would the new pages be instantly showing relative AdSense because the pages have not had content on them before?

While the static /tip.cfm page has been around for about 4 years, giving it super indexing and possibly tricking AdSense to serve those ads?

Static page: Same Title, New content 3 times a week, Internet Marketing and Email Ads

Archive/New Pages: Same Title, New content that does not change, and relevant ads.

Thanks,
Loren

I think relevant ads are based on the logic of wording in a page. Not so much about only the title. right ?

I assume that the Adsense robot uses a similar algorithm approach to the regular googlebot to determine what a web page is really about. So that includes Headings, web page content, titles, etc. However the two processes are completely independent, I believe.

Could be that the adsense robot cannot determine the theme of page because of the always changing content. So it display general adwords

It's likely to be a problem with dynamic pages - adsense does not like them; maybe it cannot read them propoerly?

Perhaps that Google determine the theme of the pages only on consistent criterias. If the content is always changing but the title remain the same, Google could decide to determine the theme only on title and to display adwords only relevant to the title.

my experience: text close to adsense-adds is important!
