Whatever you do don't go with one2host.com They are a terrible company with virtually no customer or technical support. Only email support and it can take them in excess of 7 days to answer a request if they even bother to do so in the first place. Their downtime is horrible. My site was down on their server several times a week and randomnly it would be unavailable for long periods of time. Email performance was equally as bad.
Then, they eventually crashed their server and lost all my site's content. After a week of inquiries that they ignored, they just replied to re-upload my site. No apologie, no compensation for the headache, etc.
They would not even refund when I cancelled my account.
If you don't believe me you can check one2host.net a site filed with comments from one2host.com angry customers.

Hi Kelly, yeah, you gotta be careful with hosts.
http://one2host.com/hosting.htm
If you sit back and think about the pricing, you can quickly see it's simply not reasonable. For "pennies" per month you can get all of that? It's not possible. One of my sites has been on a virtual server hosted by a large host for over 5 years now. I pay at least $20 per month and every month. ZERO problems except minor ones every so often. No big deal.
The point is, many times "you get what you pay for".

oh, yeah, I learned my lesson... This happened six months ago. I decided to use Verio since then and couldn't be more happy. It's $25/month and every penny is well worth it.
What is hostmysite.com ? How do you know they work for them...

Yes, there are 'many' resellers of hosting services. Many times you can find real good ones who act as a great support for the 'main' web host. I know we have members in here who 'resell' for a main host. But at the same time, you have those resellers who do not have a clue and are only after a few extra bucks per month. You have to know who is who and what is what.
And yes, it's obvious now they are reselling for hostmysite, and truly don't have a clue.

Hostmysite is a very prolific webhost not known for high quality networks. I can tell that one2host is a reseller for them because the IP addresses they use are assigned to hostmysite.
Here is a great tool for doing host or other website investigations:
http://centralops.net/co/
You can find out who owns an IP, what backbone they use, etc. For example, we can learn about Dougs site:
Domain Name: IHELPYOUSERVICES.COM
Registrar: DOTSTER, INC.
Whois Server: whois.dotster.com
Referral URL: http://www.dotster.com
Name Server: NS2.ANALOGWEB.NET
Name Server: NS1.ANALOGWEB.NET
Status: ACTIVE
Updated Date: 13-mar-2003
Creation Date: 06-apr-2000
Expiration Date: 06-apr-2008
He registered it with dotster but uses his hosting companies name servers.
And his domain registration:
Heil, Doug doug@ihelpyouservices.com
ihelpyou, Inc.
1481 Center Street Extension
Suite 1605
Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina 29464
US 8439710026
and that the datacenter his server is in is owned by electric lightwave, Inc:
Querying whois.arin.net with "209.210.93.106"...
Electric Lightwave Inc ELI-NETBLK98 (NET-209-210-0-0-1)
209.210.0.0 - 209.210.255.255
Optic Fusion ELI-967-209210920 (NET-209-210-92-0-1)
209.210.92.0 - 209.210.93.255
which is running on level3 bandwidth:
Querying whois.arin.net with "65.57.232.22"...
Level 3 Communications, Inc. LC-ORG-ARIN-BLK2 (NET-65-56-0-0-1)

Colo Solutions COLOSOL-LEVEL3-ASH7 (NET-65-57-232-0-1)

Vortech Inc. VORTECH-5 (NET-65-57-232-0-2)
65.57.232.0 - 65.57.233.255
but he hosts w/netgarage.net:
NetGarage
6224 SE Alpine Rd.
Olalla, WA 98359
US
And he is on an apache server
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Date: Fri, 17 Oct 2003 15:21:56 GMT
Server: Apache/1.3.28 (Unix) PHP/4.3.2 FrontPage/5.0.2.2510

and he is a bunch of hops from the backbone:

Kelly001,
Soooooooo true. One2Host was my first hosting company a couple of years ago and they are by far the worst. I also had practically zero response to my inquiries. It was like I didn't even exist! After countless requests for help from their "email support", and no contact whatsoever, I dropped them like a hot potato.
Like the saying goes, "you get what you pay for"...and that is certainly true with this crappy company.
