View Full Version : is this bad practice on my H1 tag ?

I recently redesign my site to follow seo guidelines. I especially added H1 tags to every page on the site. Unfortunately, for the review pages (almost 600 of them) which are generated by a template I created, I could only apply the H1 tag to the whole record review not only the actual title of the review which I guess would make more sense. If I wanted to do that, I would need to do it manually on 600 pages... I'm just wondering if this could be a problem to have a whole section of text surrounded by H1 tags. To see what I mean, take a look at this example page :

I doubt it could be efficient concerning SEO. H1 is a headline tag used to highlight a keyphrase. If all content is headlined, H1 loose interest.

Yes. It's not what one would call "Best Practice". I would find a way to correct it.

thanks! I'll try and manually correct every page. What a pain... going to take forever... but I guess it could benefit me, right ?
I did put a demand for a site review in at http://www.ihelpyouservices.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12060 if you guys have any other comments before I start changing the H1s. I didn't get any feedback at all since i put it up on Monday.

I think it is pretty automatable via dreamweaver templates no?

yes, it is but the template should of been made differently early on. Right now, the text of each review is one editable region. Had I known early on, I would of done two regions, one for the actual title of the review (the bold part) and a second one for the review itself. Right now, I can only apply styling to the whole region, unless is I go in and do it by hand. Uuurrrgghhh... Why am I talking in english to you ? tu comprends le francais, je suppose...

Here's the fix, can someone let me know if this is correct in the syntax. Also after the title, it should just go to the next line and the review should start. There should be no extra blank line between the H1 and the content of the review. I used CSS to control that. Is it working for you ?
