how would a site go about getting listed on direct hit,,,i have used the addurl page many times with no luck

It is not uncommon to have to wait three or four months after submitting your URL to excite to see results.

If it has been longer than that since your first submission, you might email them, if not patience.....

DirectHit will pick you up in time. They make judgements on the clicks thrus your site gets from other searches. There is nothing you can do to speed anything up. Besides, although my site is ranked highly on a few terms, clicks from DirectHit are very few to non-existant. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
