Well, I've come over all Christmassy and that means presents! However, as I can't possibly get loads of different pressies and wrap up that many you're going to all have to settle for them same thing. There's no wrapping paper and you're going to have to collect it yourself. And to further spoil the fun I'm going to tell you what it is before you get it. Bah-Humbug! :)

The following link is to a toolbar for internet explorer 5 or above (similar sort of thing to the Google Toolbar). It adds a button with a drop down menu which is a list of search engines. Then, if you follow a link from a search engine to a page which is SPAM - just drop down the menu, choose the appropriate engine and it will fire up the appropriate spam reporting mechanism and prefill some of the information for you. It was inspired by Kal's thread on spam reporting, the intention being to make reporting spam *so* easy. Let me know if there's any search engine's reporting systems I missed.

Download it here (http://www.goodlookingcookin.co.uk/antispam)

P.S. It's a biggish download at 2Mb.

[Editted Link to go to new download page instead of directly to the executable. Pictures of the toolbar are now also on the download page so you can see what it is before downloading it]

Hi Chris

Sounds interesting! Some questions...

Platform, OS, browser, memory & HD requirements?
Virus scanned? Any other security issues?
Privacy issues?
Uninstaller?
Guarantee/warranty/limit of liability?

In particular, it would be worth your while stating your limit of liability...

Okay Alan, here's those details for the AntiSPAM toolbar:

Platform: see OS
OS: Windows 95 or above
browser: IE 5+
memory: approx 100k
HD requirements: 74k + any common files that are not already on your system. Up to 3Mb (but highly unlikely to be that).

Virus scanned: Yes. With AVG virus database 164
Any other security issues: No.
Privacy issues: Zilch. The only data sent anywhere are the SPAM reports (which require your requesting them from the menus)
Uninstaller: Yes, in control panel -> Add/Remove programs
Guarantee/warranty/limit of liability: Standard free software one. It works to my knowledge but if your machine catches fire and the world comes crashing down around your ears then tough :) i.e. it's a gift.

hey Chris,.... I know the download works perfectly because I loaded it and it is just great! I also ran a virus scan and it is very free from any.

My little concern though is the .exe link left in the forums over a long time period. Over time files can sometimes go bad for no reason. Because of this, I was wondering if you could make the link go to a page on your site that has the actual download link on that page? For nothing else other than my peace of mind. :)

Super great little program! So easy to report the spam now.

Sure..no probs. I will get a page done later and direct it to there.
