Really inventive spam email

This just dropped into my inbox and I thought I would share it with you to show just how far some spammers will go:

I PRAY THIS IMPORTANT MESSAGE MEETS YOU IN PEACE, MAY
BLESSINGS OF GOD BE UPON YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND GRANT
YOU THE WISDOM TO UNDERSTAND MY SITUATIONS AND HOW
MUCH I REALLY NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE.

BEFORE I START LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF MY NAME IS MRS.
MARIAM ABACHA THE WIFE OF THE LATE AND FORMER HEAD OF
STATE OF NIGERIA GENERAL SANNI ABACHA.SINCE THE
(STRANGE AND UNFORTUNATE) DEATH OF MY HUSBAND (MAY
GOD’S MERCY BE UPON HIM), THE GOVERNMENT HAS TURNED

SINCE I CAN’T DO ANYTHING IN MY POSITION HERE, THIS IS

MY FAMILY IS GOING THROUGH HARDSHIP, MY SON IS IN JAIL
AND THE REMAINING ONES AND MYSELF ARE UNDER HOUSE
ARREST. THE NEW DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT OF PRESIDENT
OLUSEGUN OBANSANJO HAS SEIZED MORE THAN US$88 MILLION
DOLLARS ALREADY AND THEY ARE STILL SEIZING A LOT OF

They really are very poor.

We've all had this one, haven't we. Wonder how many people get ****ed in ?

Oh yeah...been getting this one (or variations of it) for years. I think there's even been snail mail versions of it going around for years.

I always report this one to the provider (e.g. Hotmail etc) when I get it, which is about once every 3 months.

I don't usually report spam emails, but I saw a documentary about how this one actually ****ed some people in and they lost their life savings. This guy went undercover to Nigeria to try to flush out the perps and got very very close but at the last minute they were tipped off. Fascinating stuff!

I had gotten an email similar to this about 3 years ago. I knew it was a scam then. Then about a month ago, I started getting one of these every day. It is sad that this one gets people.

i sent back an email last week to this same sort of email saying no problem, a few days later i got a call from the CIA, nah just kidding, they sent me a 1 sentence email telling me to call some 011... number.

There is hope for capitalism yet.

They are not selling anything. They are wanting to get your bank account information. This scam has actually caused people to give out this information and have thier accounts emptied.

A variationof this scam I have seen is that they say they are now ready to send the XXX million dollars to your bank account where you will have exclusive control over it, but there is a matter of paying "bank fees' amounting to 5% of the total, so if you will kindly pay it for them they will immediately send the money to your account - when pigs can fly!

Sadly there are those who do get taken in by these tricksters.
