I was just reading the posts here to know about the ranking algos of AV. Can someone guide me from should i start learning about this wierd SE ;) ? I am not able to get into good rankings and the results are showing a very old version of my site, like some three months old? does AV refreshes which changing seasons only ;) ?

Optimize for Google and don't worry much about AV at this time. They reindex once a blue moon right now and clearly are in a pickle. Hopefully they will snap out of it soon.

Doug's advice to opt for google is a good one. I personally optimize only for Google, and that translates well onto AV, Ink, Fast,etc... Google kind of leads the pack, the rest of the SE's have similiar premises, and will eventually become very similiar to Google (or perish[Excite, Go, etc...]).
