I want to place a "sign up for our newsletter" box on our site. Is there a software program out there for this purpose?
Or is there html code I can place on a web page where a user enters their email address and it is recorded on a hidden page that I can access to collect the email addresses.
I am in complete mystery as to the best way to go. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks and happy holidays.

The most basic thing you can do, Ray, is to collect email addresses using a form.
You could do this with a pre-made CGI script (formmail script) or with PHP or other ways. I've set up this method for some of my clients and it works well for them.
A good (secure) formmail script (http://nms-cgi.sourceforge.net/scripts.shtml).
Google search for "How to set up a form" (http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&q=how+to+set+up+a+form).
Other than the above method, it will depend on numerous factors, like what newsletter script you're using, etc.
Oftentimes, newsletter scripts or services come with this capability built in.

If you are setting up an su toresponder series, thru some sites likes getresponse.com,etc. .. then they'll give you the code that u can simply paste into your html file.
