Hello everyone and Happy Holidays to all of you!

After many weeks, I've come up with new copy for my site and I'd like some opinions about it. I know there are two schools of thought about the length of a home page. One being that you should make it an interesting read, and as long as necessary to get the information across. The other being, make it short with links to interior pages that will give "flesh out" the information. I'd like your opinions on these two views.

My new main page is the long version. I'm wondering if this is too long?

The shorter version has the same information, but is about half as long and most of the information that details what services we provide are on an interior page. I sure could use some of your comments so I can decide which way to go on this. Thanks.:hi:

Very good copy!

I think I would split it in half. Remember, not only do you want the copy to sell, but you also want the copy to get you good ranks. Your main keyword phrases should be sprinkled throughout the content if you go with one page or split it.

Put your keyword phrases in the first paragraph a few times and then in the remaining content depending on how long the content is.

Hi Doug! Thank you for the compliment. Yes, I know the page still has to be optimized for my keywords. I'm trying to do this one step at a time. I've got very good ranks for my keywords and I sure don't want to hurt my ranking with these new pages.

I've also found that writing the code in notepad as opposed to making the page in Dreamweaver cuts the load time almost in half! It's amazing what you discover when you start redoing your pages!

Thanks for taking a look. As aways, it is very much appreciated.

Doug: I'm afraid I can't take any real credit for the load time yet. I removed a little java toy which listed my brides and that helped the load time.

The new page I'm working on and coding by hand hasn't been uploaded yet. I still have to get all the keywords worked into the copy. The test I ran showed that the load time was cut almost in half from what it is now! Amazing!

ah yes, I remember the java now. Java is a severe drain for load time. If you can avoid it, you should.
