ad sense - can it help

I have a newer site that just isn't tranking well on google....although the site is clean with great content, etc. I bellieve it is in a "google filter". Would adding adsense help me in terms of being recognized by google at all?

Google absolutely insists that placing AdSense ads on your pages will have no effect on ranking or getting indexed whatsoever. When I started running ads on one of my sites, I got tons of hits from their MediaPartners spider right away, and it took a while before the regular bot came through (these were all new pages).

I have no way of knowing whether or not the ads brought Googlebot in any faster than it would have come just from the links I set up to the main page of the new section on the site's home page.
