Hello guys,
This is the very first message I am postin here so I feel rather mean.

My question is "what should be the size of web fonts to be considered the tiny text. 2px? 6px?

Thanks

Anything under <font size="2"> is considered spam by most search engines.

Well, that is true to a certain extent but I have seen whole sites with a font of one and they are okay. I do think there is a slight boost given to bigger font size. Size 2 is better than one, and size 3 is better than size 2.

HI Altruist and welcome to the forums:

Google at least considers the size of the main font in your body text when deciding what size font is considers small or tiny - Thus if you use a 12 point font for your body text they might consider 10 point small and 8 point tiny, but if you used 8 point font in your body text they might consider 6 point as small and 4 point as tiny.

I suspect that search engines do not have a definition for it. Realistically, the only way a search engine can really tell if text is tiny or not is to have a human being look at the page. So my guess is that tiny text is an issue only if a site has been reported for using it or flagged for something else.

After all, most people using CSS will have their font definitions in a external file and most SEOs will exclude the file using the robots.txt so a search engine spider won't know if the font size is 2px or 200px.
