We need suggestions. We're not getting very good system admin support, and so are looking for a new hosting company, but I'm having a hard time finding what we need.
-Linux
-50 GB/month bandwidth
-1+ GB storage
we're currently paying $55 a month for this

Isn't 50G's a bunch? It seems to me you need your own server. I don't think I would wish to be on a shared server with that kind of bandwidth consumption.

yes, Doug, we're willing to go dedicated if we need to. We're only using about 25 Gb/mo so far (about half of that is data downloads necessary to create our pages), but we'll hopefully grow to 50 Gb in the next year or so.

We just ordered our hosting today, 55gb , $25 a month reseller account from amazed.net.

Sorry i can't give you more info on quality of service - they seemed good from what I read on webhostingtalk.com

(not affiliated with either)

Roy, check on webhostingtalk.com

I am looking for a high bandwidth dedicated server myself. There's a ton of new stuff I am learning there - managed vs unmanaged. And the possibilities seem endless.

humpo, keep us informed of the quality of the service from your new host.

yes, PM, we noticed it gets kind of complex (but not as bad as managing your own server)...we're gonna stick it out awhile longer with our current host...they finally got us fixed after over 24 hours, but that's a long time to be down. Thanks for the forum recommendation.
