Hi,

Ask Jeeves has notified me that my urls submitted last year are set to expire. Questions are:

1. If am already indexed do I need to resubscribe
2. If I do need to resubscribe do I pay for each product page url on my site or just submit my homepage
3. What does this, if anything, have to do with Ask Jeeves moving away from paid inlcusion (Yahoo model)

Help appreciated!

Thanks,

Dean

Native,

Hope I can be of some help here:

1) The way you got into the index was via the paid inclusion program. So to stay into the index you do need to renewel your subscription. If you do not renew, your ULR will expire from the index until such time as it is picked up in the free crawl.

2) That is your choice. The pricing is PER URL. That means you pay $30 for the first URL and $18 for subsequent URLs and those pages will be index.

3) Nothing. Ask Jeeves has not denounced paid inclusion. They are no longer providing Trusted Feed - which is the XML feed for sites with over 1,000 URLs. The Per URL Paid Inclusion program is very much still alive.

Nor have Ask Jeeves gone down the Yahoo!/Overture Site Match route. Ask Jeeves pricing is flat fee, meaning a one of yearly cost of as low as $18 per URL for unlimited traffic.

Have you received enough traffic from Teoma/Ask to generate a positive ROI from the last year?

If not, you might consider letting Teoma find you for free. It might take a while, but I think installing their toolbar and browsing your site helps them along...
