An editor at ODP has finally gotten around to reviewing and including my site - Hooray! Very happy with my description and category too. Now I just have to wait for Googlebot to visit
A big thanks to newriver for his advice on approaching ODP editors :ladysman:

I am so fed up with ODP already...Several sites I have submitted for a client and NOTHING...sent "the email" to the editor..CC everyone...Then sent the second "email" to a top editor in the topic..NO WORD. I just dont get it. My client is questioning me know about ODP and what do you tell them...Well the editors are...I will not get into it I know this is not the place..
Just would like to know any clues to help get the site looked at...getting in is another story. :-)
Congrat Kal...:D

I was just told by another editor that one of my clients sites did not ge tin cause it had No physical address is provided...Why would this be a prblem if it is an INTERNET company and only deals with online applications? I find this strange....

Yahoo and Looksmart may also deny sites without an address/phone number on the site...
Also, companies look more reputable with a physical address listed on the website.
Now that you know why ODP rejected your clients site, why don't you just add an address to the site and either resubmit or email the editor...

Hi Optwizard
Yes it can be a chore - I spent a year and many submissions before I was finally accepted.
If you have a problem, don't give up; DMOZ has someting like 44,000 editors all of them volunteers and all of them are different in their attitudes and abilities.
If you don't get in, make sure you are subitting to the right category (do a search for your prime keyword and see what category the results are in), and that your title and description are in accordance with DMOZ guide lines, then send a very polite email to one of the site editors explaining that your site is very similiar to other listed sites, you have tried to comply with all guidelines, and if there is any problem you would be happy to make changes. If you don't get a response after three weeks, send another similar email a different editor of that site ( or the category above it) explaining things again.
No company name and address is a common reason for not listing a site in most directories, since the editors want to be sure that they are dealing witha real company.
I sent many emails to different editors, with no response, but them sent one to the right guy, who responded right back, saying resubmit and email him immediately and he would do the necessary. Three days later I was in.
