Rejected By Skaffe as an editor! Is it because I can speak Norwegian I wonder - that with my naughty reputation in sleepy Tromso might have come back to bite me.......

The most common error in editor applications is usually grammar errors. You can always apply again. Just be sure to review the 'Help Desk' thoroughly before to check for compliance understanding. It wasn't the Norsk. :)

I just applied as a Skaffe editor, I hope it's exciting. Kind of reminds me of an International GoGuides :)

That's why I was excited - dmoz is a mess these days - too many non existing websites and I notice a few editors posting their own sites and subsites


NO I shall not get into a who, where, what, when argument.

I was turned down by DMOZ I saw it was a mess and thought my little contribution would help tidy it up.

This isn't sour grapes as I really don't have the time to do it OFTEN I just offered.

Have no great cocern,consider it their loss.There are plenty of good directories looking for editors.

Thank you Steve that makes me feel better :) I guess "real" volunteerism isn't the new way. A few keystrokes a day and my brain was all I offered...

I shall now give my spare time to a worthy cause. I like seeing old folks smile - I get a real trip on that. SO blow the directories.

Actually I was a Go Guide when they first launched and moved from Go - nice folks - they really are trying to build a nice unbiased directory.

Don't sweat it David, I've volunteered to edit at many directories even though I do not have much time to dedicate to the task. Most have accepted my applications. I made sure to read all the rules and comply with each directory's standards. tlpretender is intimating that your application was flawed. You might try again if you are really interested.

The ODP is the only directory that has turned me down. There are several threads in the ODP forum here at IHY discussing reasons why the ODP appears to be more discriminating than other directories. It all makes sense when you can see the whole picture.
