Hello! I have finaly hit the jackpot. This forum was just that i needed. Im a swedish webdesigner that has a little search engine problem.
The onlinestore im going to submit is only on swedish, I have spend alot of time now to test and explore almost every submit software on the internet, i have read about how to optimize pages and so on. I think i have up to 20 different programs installed at the moment. So if you want to know anyting about submit proggs ask me now before i forget.
To the answer im looking for. I realised that it's a waste of money to buy a expensive program that of course is really good but almost, only submit where i really don't need to be listed. I only want the swedish engines and some international to list the store. But im to lazy to submit to manualy couse it's still alot of engines.
Does anyone know a program that submit by countries or some country engine list to extract in a submit program. Or im a wasting my time on this? The store is only for swedish people so i can't stop wondering if i need to submit globaly.
Please help...
/Kris

Welcome to the forums crifer! :hi:
hmmm. I do not auto submit sites but I do know that www.topdog.com has about 260 engines in the database of which some are Swedish. It will submit automatically.

I have looked at the topdog program and looked at some more posts on the forum and saw that you answered to some other that asked about programs. You thought that it was a waste of time. I realise that you are very right about that. Im probobly going to try topdog becouse the store isn't even listed on many of the engines yet.
What do you think about FFA? Im reading alot about search engines at spider-food.net and there it say it's all junk and a realy realy waste of time and you only get massive spam.

Hi Crifer:
You might try http://dreamsubmit.com they have a list of search engines by country, and I believe have the capability to submit on your behalf.
At the moment they do not have a dedcated Swedish listing, but you might try emailing them anyway.
http://www.searchenginecolossus.com/Sweden.html and
http://websearch.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.netmasters.co.uk%2Feuropean_search_engines%2F
both have listings of Swedish search engines

You also may ask one of our moderators in here "savvy1" as she submits to country specific and would know about any Swedish engines she has in the database.
Savvy1? Are you there? :)
Oh yes, I agree. Trash the FFA's and Never submit to them. They do you know good but produce spam to your inbox.

Hi Crifer;
http://katalogen.sunet.se/index.html has listings of more Swedish pages.
I believe there are also many Swedes who search in English. You might also consider the regional directories of Yahoo such as:
Home > Regional > Countries > Sweden > Business and Economy > Shopping and Services
or the DMOZ category:
Regional: Europe: Sweden: Business and Economy: Shopping

Yes. Check your site can be crawled by search engines before you go to the effort of submitting. As an "online store", there's a very good chance that it can't.
The rest of this post is a bit of a plug for our product, but it's relevant to your question. :)
The program we offer, Search Mechanics, crawls your site first, finds problems search engines might have in getting around your site, and helps you to fix those problems. It also helps you to preview the listings you might get in search engines in the coming weeks.
Once you've fixed those problems, it assists you in submitting manually to search engines and directories. But many of our users don't use the submission features as all (they have their own ways), just the analysis and reporting features.

Hi Doug,
Yep, I'm here. :)
Hi Crifer,
I do submit to country specific engines. I have about 20+ Sweeden specific engines and 400+ that are International, then the remaining 1860 SE's that I use are divided between General search engines and regional specific.
The ones that are Sweeden specific, do not allow auto-submit. So those would be done by hand.
If you'd like to see the list just visit:
http://announce.esubmit-it.com/engines.shtml
Hope this info helps.
Regards,
Deborah

Hi Crifer:
You can get an overview of what to check before submission and how to submit here (http://search-engine-optimization.ecommercehosts.com/submit.htm)
Once your site is submitted I recommend you download a free copy of AgentWebRanking (http://agentwebranking.com) software to check that you are listed and your rankings. AWR is includes Swedish language reports and covers many Swedish engines.
