Welcome to the forums David!
You are asking about how do you optimize your site to do better in the search engines.
That's what this place helps you with. I suggest reading all the good info in here.
I will give you a tip; There is nothing on your front page that can be read by a search engine spider. Since there is nothing there, you cannot expect them to know what your business name is, let alone get a position on any type of phrases at all.

:hi: david welcome to IHY
1. meta tags mean nothing for rankings.
2. Get a proper host ( not btconnect ). their servers are down more than they are up and are down right at this minute.
I have a client who had the same problems with a BT hosted site. changing host has made a vast difference.
can't give any more advice until the site is up again other than read up in here for the right way to get results.

Your site does not appear to be listed in Google (I searched for "dbs-uk").
If it's new, that's ok - if it's been there a while, you need to address both on-page and off-page issues.
On-page; the splash page is a bit of a waste of space, and means that few people over the age of 13.3 will bookmark the page. Get shot of it! Develop more content, preferably concentrating on what you do, not what yell don't!. It reads a little like an anti-yell page at present, which again will put people off.
Off-page; get some incoming links. Check out all the relevant free directories, then start looking at the paid-for directories. As a serious business, you'll need to spend some money getting listed in good directories - but most are one-off payments.
When choosing key words, try to imagine what your target audience will look for. Nothing wrong with a company name that includes 'business', but few people will search for it; they rather take that as read. Check out design, advertising and related terms.
BTW - Welcome!

Hi david clarke23 and welcome to the forum.
As others have aptly stated your first page, though glitzy like a book cover, does you no good as far as getting indexed. If the spiders can not read your page they have nothing to go on. If you are not sure what this means, here is a text viewer (http://www.delorie.com/web/lynxview.html) for you to view your site.
Once you have your home page reworked, get some some good solid links, and perhaps think about reformatting your interior copy.

Thanks everyone for replying. You have made very good points that I had not considered. I have submitted my url to google but as yet do not feature (as far as I can see) in their listings. Is there a way to see where/how my site is ranked?

Hi David Clarke23,
You first may want to check it is indexed. For G I use <inurl:www.yourdomain.com> without the <>

It appears G knows about your home page exists, but nothing else.

site:www.domain.com
is the best way to check the indexing of a site and whether it is in the index. This will show everything that has been indexed including some supplemental and urls with problems which will have just the url and no title and description. IMO, that will tell you a lot about your site and dead ends Google is encountering.
