Greetings,
except for meta keywords and description I would say don't bother too much with metas tags, as these have no influence on ranking.
however such tools can be usefull for newbies when u afraid of making mistakes in html syntax

Not quite that i meant, the program can say that the description is to short and the keywords is to many, the title is to long and so on..
I need to know if the program is reliable and on what basis it say these things.. Is it universal for all SE ?

Your tags should be created in a way that makes sense for each particular page of your site. Sometimes it will be a long tag, sometimes a short one. It all depends on what visible copy you've put on the page and what keyphrases your targeting.

oh...ok...i dont't know this software...
What i usually do, and it works, is this:
title: between 1 and 15 words
description: between 1 and 25 words
keywords: between 1 and 20 words.
but the real important things are content, title, and off-site criterias (links)

Hi Crifer,
After I've worked on Meta Tags, I always run the tags through 2 analyzers:
http://www.scrubtheweb.com/abs/meta-check.html
http://www.northernwebs.com/set/setsimjr.html
Mainly do it for character count, check for keyword repetition, and to see how the Meta Description will appear in search results.
I always take the suggestions with a grain of salt, working within what I feel works best.

That's right. Do what you feel is best for your particular page. Personally, I feel those two links do not do them right by my accounts anyway. :)
To each his own, I say.
Further, who cares about the tags anyway? Worthless these days? Pretty much.
