For those who may have missed it the last time around, MSN is working thru some bugs for its new engine. If you want to check it out then visit newer beta (http://techpreview.search.msn.com/)

The consensus so far seems that they are relying heavily on the on page opt. Personally, I hope they continue in this direction. Actually, I wish they would freeze the results the way they now stand :D

I tried one search and liked the fact that it placed my site at #1 and 2. After that, the search preview froze...:p

What?! An MSN product crashing for no reason? I'm shocked...
MSN has a LONG way to go with its se. I hope its better than Yahoo's attempt.

LOL. The results look pretty good though. I think it may give Yahoo a real run for its money.

I love it! Any idea on when MSN will roll it out?

The anticipated roll out is said to be within the next two months, but that could be just conjecture.

Looks like a good alternative to using google now!

I don't know about being a good alternative to Google, but competition is good. I think they will take a piece of Yahoo's market more so than G.

I saw a lot of activity from msnbot in my logs today. This is a first as far as I know.

Is this still a beta test or an indiacation that MSN is about to launch their own results?

I would guess it is Beta. When they do launch there will be a great deal of hoopla...ribbon cutting...photo ops...press releases..Bill smiling :o:

Still beta and the rumor is it will be for a few months. Considering NT was well over a year late in it's last release and most products from MS are late I'd say that is an unsubstantiated rumor. Also last time I looked at the beta there were some weird things happening like no results for a search that had them a minute earlier.

A few bugs to definitely work out. Their results are looking a lot better than Yahoo even now. They might be the contender for a number two spot take over.

Thanks for the replys. It will be interesting when MSN launches to see the difference in results from Google, and Yahoo.

Sometimes, I see the following paging style on the MSN Beta for some key words.

1 1 2 3 4 5 6 Next

Have you observed this?

Yes. I saw that twice only. May be, problem in the code.
