I wouldn't make that public knowledge :eyes: if I were you, Opt. Some may come down to Florida not for drinks, but with the lynch mob!:(

Very interesting read - with some strong arguments from the various parties involved. However - I will continue to stay out of the 'what is spam' argument :)

I do think (however) a sitemap suggestion would be a better recommendation in this instance than use of hidden links and should have the same effect with less risk of a penalty.

This is a very good thread and it brings back LOTS of memories!

As a total newbie to computers, let alone website building, and getting long in the tooth to boot, I was exposed to some of this misinformation.

I found loads of information about optimizing and submitting to search engines....Due to the fact I was still learning html and not too bright I found all this spam and stealth stuff intimidating so I just went the easy route with titles and meta tags....

I sure am glad I did! I may not be too high up but I am still hanging in there and after 3 years my traffic is still growing...

Love the debate, just wish I could add to it.

I will say that it does make me mad to go to a search engine and click on the number one pages and see them as they slowly load showing the entire page full of keywords that then disappear after the background color is loaded....Man that is too obvious for words!

Keep on speaking out Doug, I'm in your corner.
