I am happy to announce there is no "new page penalty" for the AV pay for indexing.
After three weeks of using the pay for indexing my site is now number one for a "disability insurance" search on AV.
Pardon me while I go drink a case of beer and celebrate!!!!

Good info tradman!
Personally, I believe it was just good optimization on your part that had little to do with the fact that you paid or not.
You did probably reach number one quicker by paying as you could tweak constantly.
Nice job!
Let us know what kind of traffic you get. AV is getting better as far as referrals.

If I were you, I wouldn't publically state your position and keywords, especially where alta vista is concerned. I once posted something in I-Search about one of my top ranking sites and which keyphrase, etc., and within a week, the whole site had been deleted! Luckily, a resubmission got it back in pretty quickly, but there are some sneaky sobs at these places that seem to like to be mean or something! I don't know if anyone from AV visits here or not, but just beware!

Thanks for the info...<tradman's hungover>
AV was worth it for us to pay, I sell insurance policies over the internet, so if just two people buy from us having found us through AV it was a profitable endeavor.
I didn't use any innappropriate techniques or tricks to rank well, just good old fashioned SEO design. Since our main url uses frames it was not easy...for anybody else interested, if you go to http://www.guardiandibrokerage.com/occupations you can see the url for all the optimised pages.
P.S. I like this forum, kind of nice to have a small group of people who know what they are doing, and reply quickly to threads. :)

Nice site tradman!
You should make up a signature file so it displays with every post you make.
Straight-forward html is always best with the engines. You are very right.
You have 3 scripts in between the <head> tags. You could put the top 2 in an external js file which may help you even more.
p.s. Hopefully the forums will not remain small for long. They are only in Looksmart and MSN now so we will see when Google updates this month. :)
