Need Help!

I ve tried all what i can, but cant make it to the top results in pure inktomi results. The site for which i am optimizing, ranks 2nd and 3rd on google and Yahoo on quite competitive terms but ranks no where in the Pure inktomi results. I've heard that there's something you've to do in the tags? what is it? would someone plz tell.

Ive gone through that thread - Congrats to you on the rankings you got.

However, at the moment I am interested in AOL as it is picking resutls from inktomi without any twisting. getting top rankings in ink means top in AOL - and i want to know how?

BTW , can you briefly explain this BOW ( best of web) how do you get in and all and does it have any effect on ink results?

You need a strong ODP listing for AOL, recently AOL have dropped the ODP listings but IMO they still have an influence and will return to the results soon.
I havnt checked over there for a while.

INK likes good keyword density in all the tags and the body.

As I understand it getting in BOW involves being consistantly high in the SEs and getting plucked from one db in INK into BOW, MMT may have some input here....

I have a strong ODP listing, as far as its influence is concerned i think is has vanished at the moment. You can check the pure ink and aol resutls .. they are identical twins.

as far as tags are concerned, i want to know the actual ratios of optimzation. My body text is good enough to rank on google well. do i need something extra in the text as well?

The key to Inktomi is in the Meta tags, your title, description, Keywords and text. Inktomi looks at all of it.
