FYI - users can now follow the url www.goguides.com (http://www.goguides.com) to reach the GoGuides Directory. This ends a four-year long saga with an individual in Korea over the name. Full unconditional ownership in the name has been turned over to GoGuides, Inc.

Yes, nice job! Now you had better "choose" which one you want to use and promote. You can't have both in the se's and if both happen to get indexed, you run the risk of Google dropping the wrong one. A link anywhere can get them both indexed, as you just posted a link. :D

Make a choice. :)

What Doug is saying Rob is correct and I would probably stay with the one you have been promoting for the last few years... because they will drop one and at that point it isnt your choice??.

It looks like it's being redirected to the .org domain, but it's a 302 rather than a 301.

Right now we are redirecting the .com using godaddy's servers to the .org hosted on the goguides servers. We think that's the best approach for the time being.

But we may drop the .org from all the images in the directory and just make it GoGuides. That's really how people know the directory anyways is by the term: GoGuides Directory.

GoGuides.at, co.uk, co.nz, us, net, etc.. all redirect to the org anyways. So doing the redirect like that for the time being is no different from the way its been done for years...

Hadn't checked but Bob is right. The redirect is a 302 and not a 301. Godaddy is not doing you any favors in the way they are doing redirects. Web host and registers do not have any idea about these things should be handled for SEs.

A 302 is a temporary redirect. A 301 is a permanent redirect. You need a 301.

That's about 450 websites pointing at the com so I'm going to get that redirect corrected. Hate to lose credit for all those links.

That will certainly remove the need for the ..

err... actually it's goguides.ORG, not goguides.COM :)
I bet you grew very tired of that...

Cheers!

Dropping the ORG from the graphics sounds wise - then at some point, you can move the content and reverse the forwarding to .com
