Hi!

My main site is listed in Dmoz. After 2 months, again I submitted a subdomain to Dmoz which has completely different content.
Is there any possibility of getting listings for sub-domans??

Thanks for the help.

Welcome to the forums QuickCrawler! :hi:

Sure, subs can get in with unique content but it might take awhile.

Hi QuickCrawler :hi:

Yep if sub domains have different and worthwhile content they can be accepted.

Hello QuickCrawler,

Welcome to the forums! :hi:

If you want some insight and some encouragement, we highly suggest that you read this previous thread (http://www.ihelpyouservices.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1342&perpage=100&pagenumber=1) about how Mel finally got his subdomain listed after one year and many failed attempts.

Keep the faith, and don't give up.

And remember that you haven't failed if you haven't given up.

If your subdomain is of completely different content and in a different category, there should be no reason you are not permitted. There is of course a couple of exceptions to the rule.

The exceptions are shopping sites and real estate sites. Realtors get one listing. No more. Don't even try if it is a real estate site.

Shopping sites get the general shopping category and maybe a regional listings. That is all. Don't try to add a listing for each product. This will not help you out.

You mention that Real Estate sites will only get one listing in DMOZ, what about sites that have more than one physical location? The site in question operates in several states and many cities, and would like to be listed in in the subcategories with unique content for each location.

Any suggestions?

You will still only receive one listing. It would be in the cat that your main office is located. If you handle all of the country, then you might get listed in a higher cat, but not likely.

Sorry, there was a major problem with real estate at one point. There was a lot of spam and a policy was made to keep that area clean and useful.

I think the answer is no. Just because a site is in other states does not necessarily mean it should be in all those categories as well. A line has to be drawn somewhere. If no line, then most any site could say they operate in all states. Might not have a physical location but can do business anywhere.
