Holy moly! I just went to Yahoo UK to learn more about their new express submission and was greeted with a freaky experience! The page was all black and then this other weird stuff all happened. It was some sort of ad campaign.

For some reason I was visiting with IE instead of my usual Netscape. It appears that I wouldn't have seen it with Netscape (just checked). Has the US version ever done this? I rarely surf with IE so I could have missed it.

That was very strange. I didn't like it. But it's better than the stinkin' popups I usually see on Yahoo US!

At least in the UK it only happens once - provided you accept cookies - not every time you visit.

Just one more reason to add to the growing list of why I think I'll stick with Netscape 4.7!!! No wonder advertisers hate that browser! ha ha to them. :scattered

Nope. Just one more reason not to visit Yahoo. I don't know why people persist when it has (deep breath) banner ads, pop-ups, casino pop-unders, Britney Spears promotions, Overture links all over the place, premium results, sponsored results, Related Yahoo! services, and a million other garbage ads to clutter the screen.

Anybody heard of Google?

Anybody heard of the Open Directory?

Great points litmania! I do avoid Yahoo for those very reasons. Unfortunately, my work takes me there a lot!

Those gambling popunders are truly pathetic though!
