keyword question

My site is about USB. So, logically, all my keyphrases are related to USB. In my meta tag, i put the following:

"usb hub, usb networking, usb webcams, usb hard drive, usb driver, usb pci, usb port"

However, I read in a rankwrite article that a particular keyword shouldn't appear in a meta keyword tag more than 3 to 4 times. The ones I am showing are just a fraction of what I got. Do you think search engines will look at this as SPAM?

You are going overboard with the word... usb... I would cut it down to a couple of times only.

None of this makes a difference if the word/phrase is not in the content. You should concentrate on the content before thinking about your tags.

Content is much more important and the meta tags are becoming less and less so.

I like to put the tag like this:

usb hub networking usb port webcams hard drive pci usb driver

Just like that, no commas.

Add content first. Tags mean very little.

Aside from content, you should be concentrating on the title and description tag and construct good ones. Keyword tag is last on the totem pole.

I already have the content, but I just don't know what to put in the meta tag.

Also, would this looong meta tag (without commas in between each keyword) means SPAM to a search engine? "usb hub networking usb port webcams hard drive pci usb driver"

The keyword tag I made up is only 11 words. Your tag is 15 words. Less is always better.

You will find places that you can help with. Do not worry about asking questions. That is what this place is for. The more knowledge you get, the more you will help others also. :)

Hmm... if less is better... why don't we just go with this?

"usb hub networking port webcams hard drive pci driver" (9)

instead of this

"usb hub networking usb port webcams hard drive pci usb driver" (11)

How do search engines know the other two USBs in the tag are different than the first one?

This is a bit confusing...

I think I will start another thread on description and title tag.

Believe me, it would take much more research to give you the best tag possible. I was giving you an example.
