Has anyone had success changing a URL of a listing?
I need to change a URL of one of our listings. I was within the 30 day acceptance time period when I sent an email in response to the acceptance about changing our URL and they emailed back:
"After reviewing your appeal, we decided that your current listing in Yahoo! more accurately reflects the true nature and content of the site. As such, we did not make any of the requested changes."
How do they reject a URL change? Did they even read my email?
Anybody have any suggestions as to what to do next?

LOL
They could not have read your email. LOL
I have heard of sites who changed their Url successfully. I guess it simply depends on the editor who received your email. Obviously, that editor was in another world somewhere when he/she got your change request. LOL

I can almost assure you that the editor did not review your request in its entirety. Why? Because this..."After reviewing your appeal, we decided that your current listing in Yahoo! more accurately reflects the true nature and content of the site. As such, we did not make any of the requested changes."... is their standard boiler plate rejection notice. Justified URL changes are not ignored as it would decrease the quality of their content. I'd try again going through the entire change request procedure. Do not reply to that editor who sent you the e-mail.
P.S. I've actually sent requests to them in the past using a return e-mail from previous submission confirmations and the change was addressed rather quickly. I've found that replying to the submission confirmations with a quick thank you and pat on the back, that the editor will sometimes reply back. I save all messages from Yahoo! no matter how trivial they are!

Thanx PageOne...I will try that. I also save all correspondance, emails, etc...AND that was the standard rejection response I got from Yahoo when they rejected my request....
my first rejection :balling:
off to request my URL change again...

MsSearch, does the URL that Yahoo is using work? Or is it wrong or a deadlink?

It is still working....however there is a trademarked word in it that the original company wants so we purchased another domain but do not want to 'hand' over the first domain until Yahoo has changed the URL of our listing.
We also haven't started promoting this new domain and don't plan to until all this has been resolved.

It could very well be that they didn't read it very well, as you stated, and simply clicked the URL, saw that it still worked and therefore sent the letter they did. I'm thinking that you may actually have to make that URL not work for a time in order for them to make the necessary changes.

Absolutely...I explained the situation to yahoo...
although I should probably delete the entire site from that domain and throw up a redirect to the new domain...and wait for their change request decision....
<off to make a few changes>

Yep, that sounds like a good idea. :)
