Can anyone help me with this please; if I do a search on my main keyword on PostionTech's pure search, my home page url comes up number 3 (it is in the Ink database via the PT paid inclusion service). If I do a search on the same keyword on hotbot.co.uk, the EXACT SAME RESULTS come up, minus mine. The same thing happens on Overture. The area I'm working in is very small, nobody is bidding on the keyword. My site is in the Hotbot and Overture database, it just doesn't show in the first few hundred results, whch is crazy. There's nothing wrong with the page optimisation - it comes up number 1 on Google, for example.

My guess is that you submitted these recently and Hotbot and Overture haven't updated yet. There has been a little time lag recently.

However, what is your main keyword. Searching at HotBot you are #1 for Symi Island and #2 for Symi. Same at Overture. You are also #1 for Caique cruises and #3 in Hotbot for Greek Island Cruises. (#11 in Overture).

I reckon this is pretty good, particularly the last one.

Welcome to the forums symivisitor! :hi:

I could not say, but Hotbot and Overture are different and they may have not received your update yet. Besides, they are not important and a top ten listing in Hotbot yields next to nothing anyway.

I dunno Doug, I get some good quality traffic from Overture for some sites (not from PPC listings) and a reasonable quantity.

Thanks for replying so quickly! My page ranking 2 is a strange one-it ranks highly on every search engine known to man (or woman) despite being only one of 100+pages on my site. It is listed in ODP, but so is my home page url. I know you're right about the other high listings, but it just defeats me why someone typing just 'Symi' as a search term in Overture doesn't return my home page url. The only reason I'm bothered is because of the fact that Freeserve are using Overture now. In fact, most of my customers are Scandanavian/Italian/French so my listing in in Fast-Alltheweb is much more pertinent, and that's fine, thanks ;-)
