Welcome to the forums mnemonic! :hi:

hmmm. You have a few problems that is causing this.

The actual url is this:

http://www.nemonics.net/home/index.html

Which is simply a regular page in a folder in your domain. Your front page should be the 'root' of the domain or the index.html page or the .net page, not a regular page. You are redirecting your front page to that page. Never a good thing.

You also have no content on that page for the spider to read. Search engines rank on pretty much content(words) on the page only. Even if the page was in a search engine's index, it would not rank for any of your keyphrases.

Please read in here all the good detailed threads and continue to ask questions and we can get you straightened out. :)

Yes. That would be the first thing you should do.

Then you need to think about words on the page for the engines to index. You only have a short paragraph and also copyright info which is not enough.

You need to make content centered around what your most important keyphrases are. I would not try to target 'web hosting' or anything like that. Be real targeted in choosing your keyphrases. Wordtracker.com is good for this.

Your title tag is important as well. Your title tag starts out with your url which does you no good at all as people will not type in your url on a search engine to find you unless they already know you. :)

Welcome mnemonic :hi:

Yep, this place is always cool  and we appreciate your offer of free advice exchange. What is your area of expertise? (what type of hosting do you specialise in?)

Hi,

Oh I'm a virtual private hosting company, having three different plans of hosting; Plan A, B and C. Mainly for small/mid sized businesses dealing with the arts, design, architecture and similar areas. I'm actually a graphic designer, so I like to design my own interfaces which I did with nemonics.net. My own site will be availabe soon again I'm updating it...

I advise you to check the site for more info, I believe I have reasonable prices, though new offers are welcome.

Hi!mnemonic
Before search engine ranking your content should be right.
There is no use of top positions if the customer doesnot like your content.
The colour combination you have used is irritating for the eyes.
I don't know about others but thats what I think.

Hi,maninderwalia

hmm colors, well I might consider that for future use thanks, but I don't get many comments like that...You might feel like that if your monitor is bright and you work all day infront of it. Whenever I sit in front of the PC my eyes start to tear after very long hours of work...need a TFT monitor definately...
thanks though i will keep that in mind..

Hi mnemonic and welcome to the forums :hi:

First I must say I love your design. The orange and grey are great but perhaps the yellow in the body is slightly too bright. As you've said though every monitor varies. I think even a white BG would look great and be easy on the eye.

As for getting in the search engines you may want to consider some keyword rich copy on the homepage.

Good luck with it all!
