Okay, PT has finally acknowledged that there are some serious problems with refreshing sites, including sites and so on. Might not be down to them, I admit but it is becoming a pain.
I have 'tweaked' pages that are not showng up in AOL, I have a couple of new pages that I submitted on Sunday that haven't been included anywhere at all (and a restless client to go with it) and a site that was last updated over a week ago (all partners).
This really isn't good enough, considering the amount of money I put the way of Positiontech and Inktomi. Problems occur, I accept that, but I want to know what is being done. If any one has actually got a reasonable answer to an email about this, I would like to know.

I've been experiencing problems like this and was wondering what I'd done wrong. In a backwards way it's reassuring to know that it's not just me being stupid. I have some pages that have supposedly been included for several weeks that don't show up reliably. My first experiences with Inktomi/PositionTech were extremely positive, but not lately ... Sigh ...

Nor do I. I was hoping that somebody had got a sensible reply to an email they may have sent. I have had no reply to mine and was wondering if anyone else had more information. I've got a very restless client as a consequence of this and my attempts at pacifying her are not meeting with a good response.

I got this message when I logged into PositionTech ...
02/06/02 - Please Note: An issue arose earlier this week which prevented a limited number of new URLs from displaying within Inktomi's partners' sites. Additionally, a number of currently indexed URLs may not reflect recent changes to their titles and description. Inktomi believes they have isolated the problem and anticipate resolution within the next 24 hours.
In case this helps ...

PT are amazingly reactive if you call them! They do try and get answers because (often) they are the 'Fall Guys' when Ink. screws up.
I will ask Jim S. the CEO from PT to come and post here.
I have to tell you that he has been exceptionally helpful every time I have spoken to him - and (when something goes on) he even calls me! I spend a fair amount of money with Inktomi - and I have used PT and NS (and a few other partners, just to try them). I have to say that I was nervous about PT as an Ink partner - because they are potential rivals - but, I have nothing but praise for their staff, customer feedback and willingness to help - and trust their integrity totally after more than a year of dealing with them.
I know that if he does show up here - we all will give him a warm welcome and not blame Ink. refresh problems on PT (please).

Oh yes, you know we will. :)
I think he has been invited before but has been a no-show. :( Maybe you can get him here!

I hadn't considered calling PT to be honest, Barry and was reluctant to email either, as this is obviously a big issue and I expect they want to deal with it rather than dealing with all the email they must be getting.
Personally, I am well aware of the relationship between them and Ink. I think I even stated in my original post that 'this might not be down to them'.
I would like something to tell this one particular client though, as her company is paying me a lot for optimisation and I spent a great deal of time convincing her that dealing with a UK company was fine and would cause no problems, etc,

If it's any consolation, my initial experiences with INeedHits were even worst - I would have my ENTIRE listings inexplicably changed to the "expired" status for days without any explanations or apologies from INeedHits.
But credit to them, all seems well now for a few months running...
(touch wood)

I sympathise, Cream, but this isn't just an isolated incident, this is happening to a great many people and I for one would appreciate knowing the nature of the problem and when it is likely to be resolved. I am not putting any more pages in paid inclusion until I at least have some idea of what is being done.
