Firstly will .eu domains take off. IMO I'm not sure. I can only see people taking them up if you have missed out on the .com or .co.uk domains.

Secondly will the Googles of this world treat them like .co.uk on Google UK or more like .com?

Too soon to tell, but I'd be surprised if they took off in a big way.

And zero chance of them being treated like .com.

If .biz was a waste of money and .info a waste of space, what chance does l'il ole Europe have? :D

This colonist thinks that, with the current struggles facing the EU, and its inability to get a constitution ratified, private sector webmasters may not embrace having thiir domains associated with the EU. Government agencies and NGOs, even slaves to political correctness, will warmly embrace the concept.

Lest anyone feel this colonist has enterend into Europe bashing, I base this on what would probably happen if there were suddenly an Americas Union (AU) that included all nations within North, Central and South America. Free enterprize would, for the most part shun the domain, and government and NGO would embrace it.
