One of my clients received this  ..... from what I understand, overture is used in yahoo's web pages, and perhaps msn results, but aol? i thought they were still ODP and inktomi.

Hello, As you know, Yahoo!, MSN and AOL are the three largest search engines on the Web - directing almost 75% of all Web traffic. We wanted to inform you that all three of these search engines have changed the way they list your site.
To be ranked at the top of these search engines, you now must pay to be listed in the top three search results.

While paying for the top spot in these three search engines may seem like a burden, it actually represents a tremendous opportunity to promote your website. You can actually bid on any keywords related to your travel market and get listed in the top three search results under these keywords. For example, if you bid on a keyword that costs five cents, you are charged just
five cents when anyone clicks from Yahoo!, MSN or AOL to your website. A thousand qualified leads, that is - people searching for lodging accommodations in your area, would cost just $50.

AOL has been using Overture listings in its sponsored listing section for some time though I don't remember when that started. As has been pointed out in other parts of this forum AOL seems to have dropped odp listings for pure Inktomi results in its search results though I am not sure if this is permanent. As for MSN and Yahoo, it looks like both have extended their Overture deals for the time being.

HOpe that helps
