Got this from AltaVista in regards to their own PPC program:

If a keyword is sold through us, then the overture links get bumped to the
number 2 spot, thus giving the Altavista advertiser exclusivity of the
number 1 spot.

hmm. I guess that only makes sense. Ya kind of wonder how many other SE's will eventually do their own thing and begin to leave O out of things?
