What are the various process to have our site among top ten sites of any category. Please clarify

The top ten sites are from directhit whose results come from Ask Jeeves...I think click-popularity determines the top ten...

someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Close but no cigar.

MSN ( I assume that is the subject since this is the MSN forum) displays first of all featured sites ( editors picks) them sponsored listings (top 3 overture results) then directory listings from Looksmart (if there are any)and then web pages.

So you can see there are several ways of getting on the first page. If there are more than ten directory listings the only way is to go for a well written Looksmart lsiting or pay for a top position on Overture.

To get the best ranking for your web pages on MSN do a search for Pageoneresults secret recipe.
