CGI101.COM (http://www.cgi101.com/) is a very good ad/spam free source to learn basic CGI programming. You can even get started right away, with their FREE online class (http://www.cgi101.com/class/). The catch: First six chapters are free, and you have to order the rest. But it's still a great source to pick up the basics without having to put up with a lot spam or annoying popups.

Nice and clean site! If I ever felt the need to get motivated to learn a thing or two, I would check it out. :)

This is the reason I liked the site. Plus no ads. I think this gal has pretty good marketing head on her shoulders. I like her technique. Provide the user with a bunch of good content, then offer more, for a price. Beats them annoying popups!

Here's a link to Matt's Free Perl Scripts (http://worldwidemart.com/scripts/), one of the popular websites for free cgi scripts. Link to his working demos (http://worldwidemart.com/scripts/demos/).

Here's a good read about Finding CGI Scripts (http://www.perl.com/pub/a/2002/01/23/cgi.html) written by Dave Cross (http://www.perl.com/pub/au/Cross_Dave) from the website perl.com.

Dave Cross has another site, where he's put together some perl script that are designed to take the place of the scripts from Matt's Script Archive, only these are supposed to be much more secure in terms of blocking spammers from hacking the script.
Here's the URL: http://nms-cgi.sourceforge.net/
