Hi!

I am confused!

please let me know - if I have to "become an editor " of dmoz, am I suppose to review the sites before (of a particular category in which I specialize)and prepare a title or I can just submit the form without filling those sections which asked for url and title?

Please suggest should I talk to the dmoz editor for the same category?

You have to fill out the whole application. You have to submit 2-3 other sites with their titles and descriptions with the application to the category you are applying to.

Hi Doug,
Thanks ,

Just now I read the other forum of Insure income, which made me more confused -

1. how many editors can one category have ?

I am specializing in Indian classical dance so what do you suggest?

Since I am not an editor someone else will have to answer that question. :)

Just wait until tomorrow as Sunday is a bad day for people being online. They will all be here tomorrow.

Hi Aparna welcome to the forums :hi:

A category can have more than one editor. However you may want to pick a category in the same theme that doesn't have an editor to start with. It is suggested that you apply for a small category to begin with as you are more likely to be accepted. Then as you gain experience you can apply for more, and larger, categories.

In your application you will need to complete the Title and Descriptions for the sites you choose. This is how they judge your writing and editing ability. I would suggest you review 3 sites not 2 as well.

Hope this helps,
sanity

Hi Sanity :hi:

Thanks for the reply.

Is it allowed to send the URL`s that are already submitted?
I have reviewed many related websites but they are already there in the directory. So let me know how to go about it?

suppose I want to give the following URL and the title and description for this,

http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Shrine/3155/bnatyam.html

but this URL is already there in the directory!

what do you suggest?

No Aparna you can't suggest URL's that are already in there. They need to be new ones. Have you tried using Google to search for relevant sites? It is often a good way to find new sites.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Farhan makes a good suggestion with the "How to Become an Editor" guidelines. You can read them here:
