Having only submitted my site to Looksmart.com, I find I am listed 9th for my keyword on MSN.co.uk. (I am U.K based btw, but have a .com) But, I am not in the Looksmart.co.uk directory.

I think that I am able to submit to Looksmart.co.uk, if so, do you think this will give my MSN.co.uk ranking a boost.

Yes - LookSmart UK sites appear before LookSmart US - so you will get a listing above your current one.

It will have the exact same title and description as your current US listings so you will have two listings on page 1 :)

Ok, thats great. But will I have to specify the same description and keywords the I passed to Looksmart.com? Very foolishly I did not make an exact note of these.

Wait a minute. I thought if you submitted to LS US you got into the other countries as well?

I know if you submit to UK and not US, you are only in UK but the other way around gets you into UK also.

Am I mistaken? Have they changed something?

It has always been like this since paid inclusion. The confusion is that LS US results do show on MSN UK - but LS UK results do not show on MSN US. However LS US results do not automatically put someone in LS UK (but an editor can do it if they choose to). I have only had a site added into US and UK via the US once in the past 2 years :(

Nick - you can write anything you like for your UK entry - it doesn't matter - the US title and description will over-ride whatever you or a UK editor write about your site.

That is why I do not bother to pay to get listings in LS UK as your LS US listing gets you into MSN UK and MSN US anyway.

You don't get any, or many referrals directly from Looksmart but as long as you get into MSN UK you are fine. That is what is important.

I certainly would not pay to be in LS UK also if already in LS US.

The advantage with LS UK is the fact that all their listings come up above the US ones - so for 'search engine optimization' I'm in the top 10 on MSN UK but way down on MSN US. However, if there are just a few listings on US then it is not needed.
