I can imagine this question has been asked before but I'm going to ask anyway.

Using PT to get your pages included into the Inktomi database, and

using WPG to optimize your pages,

which search engine would be the best one to optimize for?

I know there are many variables to determine which one is best for different people, but I'm wondering which one do most people agree is the best to optimize your most important website(s), webpage(s) for?

Thanks

I think this would depend on the phrases and how popular they are.

If you do a search on MSN and you get a lot of Looksmart listings first, then I would concentrate on all of them. If you don't get many LS listings on MSN, going after the MSN Inktomi results.

Actually, optimize for all of Ink partners and you will do fine. If you are in Looksmart's directory, it's very possible you do not have to worry about your front page to pay for in PT. Your front page LS listing is automatically in the INK main database and can do just fine without paying Inktomi.

What Doug said!~;) MSN will be the biggest traffic provider, if the targeted keywords have not been saturated by Looksmart listings.
