For those of you who have not noticed yet, netscape now returns the same results as AOL.

They (netscape) used to return the same search results as http://dmoz.org

Did not notice, although I get very few referrers from AOL/Netscape. :balling:

Google still feeds secondary results to Netscape?... right?

I can't see if they are, i just tried a search on netscape.com for "bethesda maryland dog kennells" and no results were returned. Google on the other hand returns results.

The partner search results on Netscape seem to be from Goto. However the initial reviewed web sites don't appear to be from Google, as you'll notice a search again with Google link at the end of the results.

The partner results are definately goto.com, and the reviewed site results are definately dmoz.

We are trying to determine if supplemental search results are still coming in from Google for obscure searches that the DMOZ returns no results for...much like inktomi's relationship with msn.

So where do Netscape's paid submission results go?

"Submit your site to more than 400 of the leading search engines. Just send your web site address (URL) to us once, and we'll submit your site to major search engines such as Excite, Alta Vista and Hotbot.

Submit your web site each month for a full year for only $99.99!"

Has anyone tried this? Where are these results listed on Excite, AV, and Hotbot....

Sounds like Netscape could be trying to make a quick buck off of unsuspecting webmasters. Anyone who says they will submit to hundreds of engines and then charge you for it is a shame and a liar.

Netscape has had this pricing (submission) service on their site for months now....never heard of anyone using it but I am curious to see where the results go....

I used to be able to get Netoogle results whenever I used the address bar in Netscape to search, however that no longer works?!? I see the ability to select Google search results, but I have not noticed any Google results by default.
