Hello,

Thank you everyone who posted comments about BlueStarGifts.com last week. The client might actually be willing to pay for some of the changes that were suggested.

Next Problem:

Has anyone ever optimized a Yahoo! Store for the SEs? What I'm trying to do is add keywords to the page names. Every time I trying to change a page name, Yahoo automatically abbreviates the page name.

So let's say I add a new product and try to make the page name topps_baseball_cards.html. Yahoo will make the page name tobaseallcd.htm or something similar.

Anyone have any experience with a Yahoo store?

Here's the site - http://shop.store.yahoo.com/dcscards/

Thanks for the help.

that abreviation doesnt follow any logic that i can see, i would try to beat them at their own game, I would come up with a very long page name and notice which letters were put where. for instance with this one you could have used topps_ppscbard_s.htm to make toppscards.htm. sites like google will notice this as two words if someone searches for "tops cards"

this one is going to take a little "guess and check"

good luck

rmridgew,

Thanks...that's something to think about. I think the best solution would be to figure out how to re-format the links. I have seen Yahoo stores with custom page names but I just have no idea how to do it. It seems like yahoo has their own programming language called RHTML. So for now I'm stuck with crazy page names.........

:hi:

While rmridgew did post a way to 'beat them at their own game', actual page names play a small part in optimization...instead of focusing your efforts on beating the system, you should focus your efforts more on content and building link popularity...

hope this helps...

"beat them at their own game"

that statement does seem to be a bit shady,

ive revealed entirely too much

if someone is set on having their pages named after keywords, then that is what they may need to do...

remove the underscores and see if it is abreviated, i would also try using dashes.

but if you cant get it try making the link blah.html?topps-baseball-cards

by the way, how much could i get for a mint condition (still in the cellophane) box of 1987 Donruss Rookies

thanks

rmridgew,

You would have to email the client directly for pricing on the Donruss cards. His email address is dom38@optonline.net

Thanks for the tips.
