Hi

I'm on the hunt for a good web based stats/logfile analysing package for my client.

We have just launched a database e-commerce site selling a car product. Although we have only just got started I would like to think that we would be getting over 50,000 visitors/month in the next few months.

Does anyone know a good stats package that could be accessed using say
http://www.theurl.co.uk/logfiles and then you are prompted to enter a username and password?

Any ideas greatfully received.

Thanks

Laura

You are very optimisitic for a "new" site. :)

50,000? Are you sure? Is that real visitors or impressions?

Try Google's stats. They are free and in depth.

Hi Doug

Thanks for the advice.

Perhaps I am being a little optimistic but my target keyphrase was searched 466,227 time in June - so I just hope to be on google's front page soon!

I'm already number 3 in MSN for my second target keyphrase (searched over 40,000 times during June).

Fingers crossed I'm close by Christmas!

Google has an age factor on a lot of keywords llaura, if the keywords you are after are affected by it there maybe no chance of top ranking for 2 years or so.

I use goole analytics and awstats and cnstats I find between the three I get enough information. Googla and awstats are free.

Laura,

I love your attitude! 50k visitors a month is not a huge monster goal that you can't make, so I hope that you do make that.

I like google stats, but I also like onestat, is isn't free but it has great depth.

I use this program (http://www.perlonline.com/) and AwStats which my host provides.

Personally I do not like Google's stats.

If you have access to your raw log files, software that will read those is probably the best. I have tried several over the years and I'm in the process of evaluating some more.

Good luck with your endeavor.
