Since Quadrille's information about JoeAnt is not correct, I feel I should clarify a few things. JoeAnt does not charge a fee for "inclusion" into the directory. The fee only guarantees a quick review, it does not guarantee a site will be listed. Anyone can join JoeAnt as an editor and submit their site for free.

I'm happy to make any correction; just translate that into English for me ;)

So far as I'm concerned, either 'the average webmaster' has to pay - or not.

Becoming an editor is - or certainly should be - a different matter.

But if you'd care to suggest a better way of phrasing than "$39.99 one-time fee for inclusion. A general directory with volunteer human editors. GPR=6 " - I'd be happy to consider it. But it has to be short and sweet, and aimed at 'the average webmaster'.

How about: "$39.99 one-time fee for quick review. A general directory with volunteer human editors. GPR=6 "

(no fee :) ).

I really don't want to hijack this thread since it's for questions about Gimpsy. I'd be happy to have a dialogue with you about JoeAnt, perhaps via pm? I would not presume to tell you how to word your own description of JoeAnt. I only wanted to clarify that the fee was not for inclusion since it is misleading. And, the average webmaster can become an editor, which I can also clarify for you if you want to know how the process works and why it was setup that way.

No worries; JoeAnt was mentioned, and you have a fair point - I thought about splitting off the thread, but life's too short!

I think I understand the editor thing, and visitors can read the detail on your site.

But do feel free to PM any thoughts about the description (see my post above); the editor's decision is final, but I'm happy to consider any improvements to my Directory - as I know you are with yours!

I split this off from the thread in the Gimpsy forum.
