Importance of occurence of Keywords

Hi All,

I have probably a basic question. I know that it is important to have keyword in the title tag of your pages which should be unique.

But does the position of occurence of keyword in the title tag affect SE rankings?

I mean suppose if the keyword is Sambit then,

Type I:

Sambit - The Lonely Runner

Type II:

The Lonely Runner - Sambit

Which one of these will affect in what way. I know it is common sense to use the first one but if at all the type II is required then what will be the change in the result.

There is no correct answer to your question. Simply test both ways, and test all ways.

Yes, things like that are part of the tweaking process.

But don't forget that clickthrough rate could be equally or even more important !
This rate could also change when the page titles gets changed.

I would tend to think that if the competition is very high then a bit of tweaking may have a huge difference but when it is not so competitive then ypou have to check.

I am saying so because i have seen many a times that the occurence of keyword varies right from the first spot to the middle position or maybe for sometimes it is at the end of the title tag.

I understand what you are saying sambit. But too much occurence of the keyword suggests it to be spam. Many a times I have also seen it. Specially you can find it for very competitive markets like ecards or greetings card.

Just go through the occurence of keyword along with position of it.
