Hi
I signed up for Intomi's inclusion service on 12/27/01.
To date I haven't heard from them or seen my site in
the top 100 at MSN.
Could anyone advise me as to where to turn.
Or maybe I just blew $40

Hi Jaer57,
What you paid for was just inclusion. That buys you the ability to be listed only, not placed.
Sorry. It's a bad deal, I know.

It also looks to me that - if the page in your sig is the page you put into the inclusion program - this site isn't optimized for anything anybody might search on and it is also a cookie-cutter page that thousands of other affiliates also use. No chance of ranking on this type of page, I'm afraid.

I'm not sure I understand. That page has numerous Metatags
in it for searches. What do you mean nothing anyone would search for?
They should have told me they couldn't rank that page instead
of taking my money for nothing.
I think it unethical and unfair and I'm not done with them yet.
Where are they based?

You probably won't make very much headway in an action against them. The program clearly states that it is for inclusion into their SE databases. They make no promises that your site will be ranked, or where it will place, just that it will be "included".

They do tell you that. They clearly explain what is acceptable in their index and what is not acceptable before they take your money. Please read everything you need to know before you give money.
You paid for 'inclusion' only. This has nothing to do with ranks. Your page is already out their on the net thousands of times. No search engine wants to rank that kind of page. Duplicate content is not wanted in the indexes. You need to have your own site with good unique content that can lead to an affiliate program you are promoting.
Keep reading up in here about how to create a site with good content that the engines will love. :)

Thanks Doug
I'm working on a site now. I don't know enough about HTML
to build one myself so I'm building one here.....

Is this approach exceptable?

Ps how do I change my link?

That is better but it is simply an automated program which builds your site and then hosts it.
You really need to hire a web designer and then get your own hosting account somewhere. That program will not give you access to change the html code on your site. You need server access to rank well with the engines.
You need to spend some bucks to get an html editor to help you build a site. Something like MS FrontPage is very good for a beginner.
Keep this in mind.
We all had to start somewhere. You may as well do things right. None of us knew html when we started but we learned. I am still learning. :)
You also have to spend money to make money as such is life.

Hi Jaer57,
To learn about HTML here's an excellent set of links to tutorials:
http://www.walshaw.com/tutorials.htm
Read up on it and play around with it a little. It's really very easy. You can master HTML in about 4 days.
I would suggest getting a domain (free) at Netfirms.com. Your domain would be thenameyouchoose.netfirms.com
You stand a better chance of getting a sub-domain to be recognized and placed in the SE's. :)
Good Luck!
